tried on several keywords - fast and reliable
This program should be part of Mac OS System approach Apple and SELL SELL SELL, best software ever to search I have 8 TB of files and searching is a breeze.
In the "good" old days (well, many things werent that good...) Mac OS had a good seach engine we could use to find files conveniently (at one point it became Sherlock, which was great until it got sidetracked and became something else). But for some reason, this was replaced by the extremely inconvenient Spotlight (I am frustrated each time I use it). EasyFind seems to be an up-to-date version of the Find function that had been discarded much to the detriment of the Mac. What is needed (very much needed) is simply something that will find a file and show where it is; it would be nice to be able to open that file and move it, but that would be just icing.
I have to say that the default mac search engine is a crab compred to this little precious gem. Mac search returns with files that doesnt even have similar name to what I was looking for. I totally agree that this software should be a part of the Mac OS. Great job guys.
I found that Spotlight couldnt find files on any of my network shares after upgrading to Lion - some sort of Finder indexing/samba issue that has yet to be resolved - came across a reccomendation to try EasyFind as it doesnt rely on Spotlight meta data indexes. Worked great, highly recommend especially if you encounter the same issue.
needed to completly clean it out so that I could properly reinstall it. I will leave the internet browser nameless as its a conflict of interest here in the Ap Store but Im glad to have it back and I couldnt have done it without EasyFind!!!
I have never written a itunes review but this rescued me from over an hour of trying to find my files that mysteriously seemed to be gone and finder is horrible at finding anything. Great product!!! GREAT!!! GREAT!!! GREAT!!! Whoever made it needs an award!! Why apple couldnt do this in the first place is beyond me.
I agree with the first reviewer. Easy-to-use, good at filtered searches, finds files Spotlight cant find.
Pick up where Spotlight is missing…. Amazing !!!
This is the BEST app.ever. Definitely 100 times better than Spotlight . LOVE IT.
If you ever open an email attachment and modify it and then save it it gets stored in a hidden file in the library. This app can search absolutley everywhere and find files by name or text strings in the document. It is what Spotlight should have been. I would happily pay $10 for this app, it really saved me by finding a document I worked on for an hour but which "disappeared" after I saved it and did not appear in either Recent Files or Spotlight. Great job Devon!
Its that good and helpfull. Highly recomend it to anyone who uses files and folders, especially for those who often need to find things.
Absolutley fantastic, quick, stable, and effective. Best thing since sliced pizza.
I switched to using this over Finders search because it shows the file path in the results window. Really useful. Only thing Id like added would be the ability to exclude folder paths from my searches. Other than that, its really great.
Spotlight was supposed to be this amazing search for OS X, but I have never had luck with it. EasyFind is just that, an easy way to find stuff on local and network drives. I can finally find my stuff again!
Ever since I switched from a PC to the iMac Ive been frustrated with its search features, particularly inside files, which is what I normally need to do. EasyFind is just that! An easy way to find files, folders, or file content anywhere on your system. I highly recommend this product if you do a lot of searching within documents, its fast, effective and presents useful, easy to decipher results. Brian
Very helpful - wish it could be built into OSX!
I have been using this app for almost 2 years and I must say it’s very reliable, never crashed and never fails to find what I’m looking for.
No indexing helps for real time forced searching.
